What 86'd is

86'd is a B2B wholesale platform that connects hospitality venues — restaurants, cafes, bistros, delis and bars — with their suppliers. 86'd provides the technology; suppliers and venues trade with each other directly under the terms they agree.

Account types

Venues can self-register on 86'd. Suppliers are added by invitation while we onboard the first cohort. Each org (venue or supplier) can have multiple staff users, with the org owner controlling who has access.

Trading relationship

When a venue places an order on 86'd, the contract is between the venue and the supplier — not with 86'd. The supplier sets prices, payment terms, credit limits, MOQs, lead times and any venue-specific discounts. The supplier is responsible for the accuracy of their catalogue and for fulfilling orders.

86'd does not hold or transfer funds between venues and suppliers. Settlement happens directly between the parties on whatever terms the supplier has agreed with each venue.

Stock and reservations

Stock counts on 86'd are maintained by the supplier and are updated in real time. Adding items to a basket places a temporary reservation; if the basket is not converted to an order within the reservation window, the reservation is released.

B2B nature of orders

Orders placed on 86'd are between two registered business accounts (the venue and the supplier). The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECT Act) cooling-off rights that apply to consumer e-commerce do not extend to B2B trade. Cancellations, returns and refunds are governed by each supplier's own trading terms.

Acceptable use

Accounts may not be used to misrepresent identity, harvest data, circumvent platform fees, or list goods you are not authorised to sell. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that breach these terms.
